How Can We Clear the Clipboard on Android?

As Android smartphones come are released with a variety of versions, the procedure of clearing the clipboard varies accordingly.

1. Clearing the Clipboard of Samsung Smartphones:

There are five steps following which Samsung users can clear the clipboard.

Step 1] Open an app that supports the copying feature. For example, let’s take the messages.

Step 2] In the empty space where we type the text, press and select the clipboard option.

Step 3] Once clicked, the list of content copied to the clipboard will appear. Now, press the Menu icon, which will be either three dots or an arrow at the rightmost corner.

Step 4] At last, select the delete icon which is at the bottom to delete all the contents of the clipboard.

Step 5] On the pop-up, click on Delete to clear the unselected clipboard contents.

  • Tip: A simple Alternative to these steps is to press and hold the clipboard that we want to delete and select delete from the Clipboard option.

2. Clearing the Clipboard on Android 10 and Above Versions:

 In 10 and above versions of Android, we can install the Gboard app from the Play Store, which will enable us to manage clipboard history on any Android Smartphone (Vivo, OnePlus, etc.)

The following are the steps to be followed:

Step 1] Install the Gboard app from Play Store.
Step 2] From the settings, select Gboard as the default method of input.
Step 3] Go to an app where you can type any text and do so.

Step 4] Now, tap and hold any word you have typed to get the clipboard options.

Step 5] Next, click the clipboard option. If this is not opening, then try clicking the three-dot icon and selecting clipboard.

Step 6] At this point, you should be able to view the clipboard history, which includes text, images, and links.

Step 7] Tap and hold one or multiple entries

Step 8] Once we select the entry(s), tap on the Delete icon. By this, the selected content will be deleted.

  • Note: The clipboard cannot access this way if we use a third-party keyboard app.

3. Clearing the Clipboard on Stock Android:

Stock Android is the most popular basic version of Android that device manufacturers cannot alter. In this version, only Google can handle all the updates. Here clearing the clipboard contents is a simple process, and all that has to do is copy new content to the clipboard, which will remove the previously stored data.
